- Aluphagel Syrup is available over-the-counter. It is usually taken by mouth, after meals and at bedtime. The usual dose is 10 milliliters (mL) for adults and children 12 years of age and older. Children 6 to 11 years of age should take 5 mL. Children under 6 years of age should not take Aluphagel Susp 225Mg 5Ml 240Ml without first talking to a doctor.
- Do not take Aluphagel Syrup if you are allergic to alginate or any other ingredients in the medication. You should also not take Aluphagel Susp 225Mg 5Ml 240Ml if you have a bowel obstruction.

It is also used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which stomach acid backs up into the esophagus.
Aluphagel Syrup may cause side effects, such as:
