Diampa LT 5/10 is an inhibitor of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2), a key transporter responsible for glucose reabsorption in the kidneys. By blocking SGLT2,

Empagliflozin reduces the reabsorption of glucose, leading to increased urinary glucose excretion and lowered renal glucose threshold.

Linagliptin, on the other hand, acts as an inhibitor of DPP-4, an enzyme responsible for breaking down incretin hormones like GLP-1 and GIP. By inhibiting DPP-4, Linagliptin enhances the concentrations of active incretin hormones, promoting insulin release from pancreatic beta cells in response to glucose levels.

Diampa LT 5/10 Uses

  • Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S is a combination medication containing empagliflozin and linagliptin
  • It is used for improving blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Empagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces glucose reabsorption from the filtrate, leading to increased glucose excretion in urine
  • Linagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that raises levels of incretin hormones like GLP-1 and GIP, aiding blood sugar regulation
  • This combination enhances blood sugar control by increasing urinary glucose elimination and promoting the effects of incretin hormones

  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  • Increased risk of urinary tract infections
  • Genital yeast infections
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Fatigue

Other

  • Kidney problems
  • Pancreatitis
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis
  • Lactic acidosis

  • Diuretics: Combining Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S with diuretics may heighten the risk of dehydration, potentially leading to low blood sugar levels.
  • Insulin and Antidiabetic Medications: Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S might increase the likelihood of low blood sugar. If you're on insulin or other antidiabetic medications, your doctor might need to adjust your dosage accordingly.
  • Warfarin: The effects of warfarin, a blood thinner, could be amplified when taken alongside Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S. This elevation in effects may escalate the risk of bleeding.
  • Sulfonylureas: There's an increased chance of low blood sugar when combining Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S with sulfonylureas. Your doctor might need to modify your sulfonylurea dosage.
  • Metformin: Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S could potentially elevate the risk of lactic acidosis, a rare but serious condition associated with metformin usage. Your doctor may decide to monitor your kidney function more closely.
  • ACE Inhibitors and ARBs: Combining Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) could raise the risk of kidney issues. Closer kidney function monitoring might be necessary.
  • NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs): If you're taking NSAIDs, combining them with Diampa LT Tab 10Mg 5Mg 14S might heighten the potential for kidney problems. Monitoring your kidney function could be advisable.
