Neo Klar Susp medicine is indicated in conditions like cervicitis, lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, reversal of excessive bradycardia, rtis otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, soft tissue, and skin infections, status epilepticus (unlicensed use), upper respiratory tract infections, urethritis.

Clarithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. It works by penetrating into the bacteria cell wall and reversibly binding to domain V of the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, in this way it blocks the translocation of aminoacyl transfer-RNA and polypeptide synthesis, this mechanism results in inhibition of bacterial growth.

  • Its use must be avoided during pregnancy and in breastfeeding mothers. 
  • Should not be given to patients who are hypersensitive to clarithromycin or any macrolide antibiotic.
  • Shake well before use. Keep the bottle tightly closed after use. Use within 14 days after reconstitution.
  • Should be used with caution if a patient has some heart or liver disorders.
  • Store below 30°C. Protect from heat, and sunlight.
  • Always read the label or consult with a doctor for precise dosing instructions.

  • Feeling sick (nausea) Stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food while you're taking this medicine.
  • Being sick (vomiting) Try taking small, frequent sips of water to avoid dehydration

Q:  Is clarithromycin an antibiotic?

Clarithromycin belongs to the class of medicines, known as macrolide antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, this medicine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.

Some children get diarrhea, and stomach pains and may feel sick or be sick (vomit) when they first start taking Clarithromycin.

Q:  Is 5 days of clarithromycin enough?

For bacterial infections: Adults—1000 milligrams (mg) once a day for 7 to 14 days. Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
