Primary Use:
Severe allergic reactions, rheumatoid arthritis flares, asthma exacerbations, skin disorders, joint inflammation
Also Used For:
Lupus, bursitis, tendonitis, dermatitis, multiple sclerosis flare, eye inflammation (peri/intra-articular use)

Risk of infection, adrenal suppression, hyperglycemia, mood changes, osteoporosis, GI bleeding
Avoid If:
Systemic fungal infection, hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone, live vaccine administration, uncontrolled infections
Interactions:
NSAIDs → ↑ GI bleeding risk Anticoagulants (warfarin) → altered INR Antidiabetics → reduced effect Diuretics → hypokalemia risk Rifampicin → ↓ steroid effect Phenytoin → ↓ effectiveness
