Also Used For:
Seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, and prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in eligible patients.

Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
Montelukast carries an important warning for serious mood and behavioral changes, including suicidal thoughts or actions. Monitor for nightmares, agitation, anxiety, depression, or unusual behavior and seek medical advice promptly if these occur. It is not a rescue medicine for a sudden asthma attack.
Avoid If:
Allergic to montelukast or any tablet ingredient. Discuss previous mental-health symptoms with the prescriber before starting treatment.
Interactions:
Phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampicin, and gemfibrozil may affect montelukast levels or treatment response. Inform the prescriber about all medicines and supplements.
