Also Used For:

Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
May take 2–4 weeks to show full benefit. Do not stop suddenly. Monitor for worsening depression, suicidal thoughts, or unusual behavioral changes, especially at treatment initiation.
Avoid If:
Allergy to escitalopram, concurrent use of MAO inhibitors, or use with caution in bipolar disorder, seizure disorders, and severe liver disease.
Interactions:
MAO inhibitors, tramadol, linezolid, lithium, warfarin, NSAIDs, other antidepressants, alcohol, and serotonergic drugs may increase adverse effects or bleeding risk.
