Primary Use:

Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, severe psoriasis, and selected cancers.

Also Used For:

Psoriatic arthritis, certain leukemias, lymphomas, and other autoimmune conditions under specialist supervision.

Warnings & interactions

Warnings:

Can cause severe liver toxicity, bone marrow suppression, lung toxicity, infections, and birth defects. Requires regular medical monitoring. For rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, it is usually taken once weekly, not daily.

Avoid If:

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe liver disease, severe kidney disease, active serious infections, or significant blood disorders.

Interactions:

NSAIDs, trimethoprim, sulfonamides, penicillins, proton pump inhibitors, alcohol, and other immunosuppressants may increase toxicity.
