Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
Monitor kidney function regularly. Rare risk of lactic acidosis due to metformin. Use cautiously in elderly patients and those with liver disease.
Avoid If:
Severe kidney impairment, metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe liver disease
Interactions:
insulin, sulfonylureas, corticosteroids, iodinated contrast dyes, and certain blood pressure medications may affect treatment.
