Frequently asked
Can I stop taking the medication when I feel better?
No. Do not stop taking Inosita Plus 50mg/1000mg (Sitagliptin + Metformin) just because you feel better unless your doctor tells you to. Type 2 diabetes often improves with treatment, but the medicine may be what is keeping your blood sugar controlled. Stopping it suddenly can cause your blood sugar levels to rise again, even if you feel well.

Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
Use only under the supervision of a healthcare provider. Kidney function should be assessed before starting treatment and monitored periodically. There is a rare but serious risk of lactic acidosis associated with metformin, especially in people with significant kidney impairment. Sitagliptin has been associated with rare cases of pancreatitis. Seek medical attention if severe, persistent abdominal pain occurs. May cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Inform your healthcare provider before surgery or imaging procedures that use iodinated contrast dye, as temporary discontinuation may be required.
Avoid If:
You have type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. You have severe kidney disease or significantly reduced kidney function. You have a known allergy to sitagliptin, metformin, or any ingredient in the tablet. You have a history of metformin-associated lactic acidosis or another condition where your healthcare provider advises against metformin.
Interactions:
Insulin and sulfonylureas (such as glimepiride or gliclazide) may increase the risk of low blood sugar. Iodinated contrast agents used in certain imaging tests may increase the risk of kidney problems and lactic acidosis; metformin may need to be stopped temporarily. Alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and should be limited or avoided. Some medications, including corticosteroids, diuretics, and certain blood pressure medicines, may affect blood sugar control or kidney function. Tell your healthcare provider about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements you are taking.
