Lidocaine Injection 1% is a sterile injectable local anesthetic containing lidocaine hydrochloride. It works by reversibly blocking sodium channels in nerve cells, preventing the transmission of pain signals. It is widely used to produce local or regional anesthesia for minor surgical procedures, wound suturing, dental procedures, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. When administered intravenously under specialist supervision, lidocaine is also used as a Class Ib antiarrhythmic to treat certain ventricular cardiac arrhythmias.
