Composition

Common side effects

• Urinary Tract Infection (UTI): The most frequent complication. Symptoms include burning sensations, fever, chills, and cloudy or foul-smelling urine.
• Urethral Irritation: A burning, aching, or generalized discomfort in the urethra, groin, or lower abdomen
• Mild Urethral Bleeding: Slight bleeding or spotting is common, particularly if the 22Fr catheter is inserted too quickly or without adequate lubrication
• Bladder Spasms: Painful, involuntary contractions of the bladder muscle that can feel like sudden stomach cramps

Rare but serious — seek help immediately

• Urethral Trauma or Perforation: Forceful insertion of a large 22Fr catheter can cause tears, abrasions, or even puncture the delicate lining of the urethra
• Urethral Strictures: The formation of scar tissue in the urethra, usually associated with repeated, traumatic catheterization over time.Bleeding (Hematuria): Persistent, significant bleeding in the urine as a result of mechanical injury to the urethral walls or bladder neck.
• False Passage Creation: In rare cases, incorrect insertion technique can create an unintended channel through the urethral tissue
