Premaquin Tablets contain Primaquine, an antimalarial medication belonging to the 8-aminoquinoline class. It is primarily used to treat and prevent relapses of malaria caused by Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium ovale. Primaquine works by targeting the liver stages of the parasite, including the dormant hypnozoite forms, thereby preventing the recurrence of the disease. It is also used to reduce transmission of Plasmodium falciparum malaria by eliminating gametocytes
