Sodium Tetradecyl Sulphate (Setrol) is a sclerosing agent used in the treatment of varicose veins and venous disorders. It acts by damaging the endothelium of blood vessels, leading to thrombosis and subsequent fibrosis of the treated vein. This effectively closes off the varicose vein, redirecting blood flow through healthier vessels. It is administered by injection directly into the affected vein (sclerotherapy).
