• Neurological & Behavioral: Akathisia (restlessness or an urgent need to move), insomnia, anxiety, headache, lightheadedness, or sedation/drowsiness • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, constipation, or dyspepsia (indigestion) • Metabolic: Weight gain or changes in blood sugar/lipid levels • Serious/Rare Risks: Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements), orthostatic hypotension, or increased risk of suicidal thoughts/behaviors in young adults/adolescents. (Note: Antipsychotic drugs are associated with an increased risk of death in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis.
