Warnings & interactions

Warnings:

May cause serious skin reactions, liver problems, blood disorders, dizziness, and drowsiness. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Avoid If:

Bone marrow suppression, severe liver disease, allergy to carbamazepine or tricyclic antidepressants, or concurrent MAOI use.

Interactions:

Oral contraceptives, warfarin, macrolide antibiotics, antifungals, antiepileptics, and grapefruit juice may alter carbamazepine levels.
