Primary Use:
Treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis at increased risk of fracture.
Also Used For:
Prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis, depending on clinical assessment.

Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
May irritate the esophagus. Take with plain water while sitting or standing upright and remain upright for at least 60 minutes afterward.
Avoid If:
Hypocalcemia, significant esophageal emptying disorders, inability to remain upright for 60 minutes, or allergy to ibandronic acid.
Interactions:
Calcium, antacids, iron and other mineral supplements can interfere with absorption. Take Bonviva at least 60 minutes before food, drinks other than water, or oral medicines/supplements.
