Long-term use may cause B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, fracture risk, rebound acidity
Avoid If:
Allergy to esomeprazole/PPIs, severe liver disease (caution), concomitant use with rilpivirine
Interactions:
Clopidogrel (reduced effect), Warfarin (↑ bleeding risk), Diazepam (↑ levels), Methotrexate (toxicity), Ketoconazole (↓ absorption), Digoxin (↑ levels)
