Uses
Primary Use Treatment of Parkinsonian symptoms and drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms, under medical supervision. Also Used For - Muscle spasms or abnormal postures caused by some antipsychotic medicines. - Other movement disorders when prescribed by a specialist. Who May Benefit Patients with a diagnosed movement disorder for whom a clinician considers procyclidine appropriate.
Warnings & interactions
Warnings - May cause blurred vision, dizziness, and confusion; avoid driving if affected. - Use cautiously in older adults because confusion and memory problems may occur. - May reduce sweating and increase the risk of overheating in hot weather. - Do not stop long-term treatment suddenly without medical advice. - Seek urgent care for severe confusion, inability to urinate, or a very fast heartbeat. Avoid If - You have a known allergy to procyclidine. - You have narrow-angle glaucoma, bowel obstruction, or urinary retention unless a specialist has assessed its use. - You have myasthenia gravis or significant heart rhythm problems without medical guidance.
