Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Also Used For:

Peptic ulcer disease, acute enterocolitis, gastritis, spastic colon, and functional GI disorders.

Who May Benefit:

Patients with stress-related GI symptoms, abdominal cramping, intestinal hypermotility, and anxiety-associated digestive complaints.

Warnings & interactions

Warnings:

May cause drowsiness, dependence, dizziness, confusion, blurred vision, urinary retention, and constipation. Long-term use may lead to benzodiazepine dependence. Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants.

Avoid If:

Narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, bladder neck obstruction, urinary retention, severe liver disease, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy (especially first trimester), breastfeeding, hypersensitivity to ingredients.

Interactions:

Alcohol: Increased sedation and respiratory depression. Opioids: Risk of severe sedation, coma, death. Antihistamines: Increased drowsiness. Antipsychotics: Enhanced CNS depression. Antidepressants: Increased sedative effects. Other anticholinergics: Increased dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention
