Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
Not for acute asthma attacks; may cause neuropsychiatric effects (mood changes, agitation, sleep disturbance); caution in liver disease
Avoid If:
Hypersensitivity to montelukast; acute bronchospasm requiring emergency treatment
Interactions:
Rifampin (reduces effect) Phenobarbital (reduces levels) Carbamazepine (possible reduced efficacy) Gemfibrozil (may increase levels)
