Metroix tablets contain Metronidazole, which  is commonly used to treat bacterial infections, especially those caused by anaerobic bacteria. It can be prescribed for conditions like bacterial vaginosis, certain types of dental infections, and intra-abdominal infections.

Metronidazole is effective against protozoal infections such as Giardia, Entamoeba histolytica which causes amoebiasis, and Trichomonas vaginalis which causes trichomoniasis.It is sometimes used in combination with other antibiotics to treat Helicobacter pylori infections, which can cause gastritis and peptic ulcers.
