Primary Use:
Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Also Used For:
Combination therapy with metformin, insulin, or other oral antidiabetic agents.

Warnings & interactions
Warnings:
May cause pancreatitis (rare), liver enzyme elevation, and hypoglycemia when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin.
Avoid If:
Severe liver disease, type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or hypersensitivity to vildagliptin.
Interactions:
Insulin, sulfonylureas, alcohol, and other glucose-lowering agents may increase risk of hypoglycemia.
